In a month of riots, revolutions, and Valentine’s Day, Zemifilm quietly kept its nose to the grindstone. Here’s a quick roundup from the luxurious yet ever-humble Zemifilm offices:

The month kicked off with our all-day coverage of the Chinese New Year. After celebrations at the Chinese Cultural Center, where giant monster lions ate money and small children, we took Kevin out for a birthday lunch at a Chinese restaurant. Welcome to the Year of the Rabbit.

And, of course, the editors of “Stringfellow” continued painstakingly reworking each and every scene to perfection…

The film’s soundtrack also gained momentum, with blues-man of the hour P.K. Dwyer and triple-threat Ryan Johann Perry signing on.

In other news, we took a relaxing publicity tour of our local zoo, which  revealed nature in all its glory-

-not to mention “Stringfellow” actor Michael Hurley!

After that, Stella sculpted a bust of Oisín’s head. Behold and Bask.

Stella was also busy with her documentary short on busker king and blues convert P.K. Dwyer. By the end of the month, with shooting wrapped, Stella had stepped into the editing suite to put it all together. Stay posted.

Stella and I were in the Two Fools Tavern this afternoon, filming and recording a traditional Irish music group “Finn’s Thumb” and enjoying some fine fish and chips. We are putting together a little something with my good friend, and gifted musician, Dain. For now, listen to the live track we recorded (at the top there) and enjoy these photographs of…

Dain Forsythe on flute, whistles, and bodhrán
Pam Morden on bouzouiki, mandolin, and fiddle
Jeannie Dyke guitar, vox, whistle, and flute
With guest musicians:
Steve Nichol on banjo
John Conoboy on mandolin and bouzouki
Andrew Post on Uilleann pipes
